History

The earliest settlement goes back to the 11th century, but most of the population of Albanian refugees came to the place only in the 15th century. This migration took place in 1461, when the king of Naples granted this area near Monte Gargano to George Castriota Skanderbeg for a group of 5000 immigrants from Albania, escaping from the Turkish occupation .
