Where to stay
In the 12th century it was part of the Avellino countdom. It was fiefdom of the noble families of Del Tufo, Capece, Brancaccio and the Caracciolo of Avellino who governed from 1650 to 1806. In 1656 the population was hit by a terrible plague and only many years later a rebirth took place. After the 1980 eartquake the frazione Arcella became the new residence for many displaced families from Irpinia.
