Province of Milano, Lombardy Region, Italy

The territory of the province is enclosed betwwen the Ticino river to the west and the Adda to the east, and is also crossed by the Olona, Lambro and Seveso rivers, and by a networks of canals called Navigli (Naviglio Grande, Naviglio Martesana, Naviglio Pavese). The province of Milano is the heart of Italian finance and a major business area.

The new Monza and Brianza Province was until 2004 part of the province of Milan. This new province includes 55 communes with approx. 740,000 inhabitants.
